Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch 17

Another sketch challenge, but this time from C4C.
I did get to sleep in today. Boy did I need it. We made Hello Kitty Fortune Cookies (one of Addison's Christmas gifts from a friend). Then we went sledding. She's a big chicken about everything so she didn't like the big hill at the park. Once we walked back home I took her in our front yard on the small hill. She liked that but it wasn't packed down. That makes it much harder to walk out of. I took down ALL my Christmas decorations. I couldn't take the clutter any longer. I may go to The Container Store tomorrow. I should stay away from that place, it's so pricey. I usually just get ideas but I'm after something specific tomorrow. I love all the organization stuff. I think I subconsciously want to have a house that looks like Martha Stewart's (that will never happen). I have 2 more challenges to work on and another will come out tomorrow, so hopefully I will get some play time also.

Amy has more sweet sweet candy.

Amy over at A thousand sheets of paper has more great candy to celebrate her new release at All the Scraps. Boy would I love to win this. Go look at the card she made. It will put you in the Valentines mood.

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. This is an easel card I did for my December class. It may be hard to see but the border on the right side is a Martha S. punch topped with a Marvy snowflake punch in white with a pink crystal sticker in the middle. I think it adds some interest and texture.
So does everyone feel like they are coming down from the Christmas high? I'm exhausted and ready to get all the decorations & toys put away. I need my space back to normal. It's not just this year, I always feel like this the day after Christmas. In fact I normally spend this day taking the tree down. But not today, I spent the morning at Target, Micheals, & Hallmark with my friend. In the afternoon we went to her house for a little Christmas with her family. Busy day, but fun. TGF's 12 Days of Sketches! - Sketch 6

I was going to post this yesterday but when I looked at the pictures I took I had to redo them. This isn't much better, I think my eyeballs aren't level in my head, I can't seem to take a strait picture. This is sketch 6 of TFG 12 Day Challenge.

TGF's 12 Days of Sketches! - Sketch 5

This is a very appropriate card for the weather we are having today. We have about 9 inches on the ground and a lot more coming. Good to not have to go anywhere tomorrow. We are having a quiet Christmas at home, we will likely go sledding at the park.

This is sketch 5 in TGF's 12 Days of Sketches challenge. I will have sketch 6 up soon.

TGF's 12 Days of Sketches! - Sketch 4

Another day, another sketch. TGF is keeping me busy with this challenge. Do you think I will make it to 12? We will have to see. At least I will have a head start on my cards for next Christmas. This is also my entry for Anyone 4 Anya's last card of the year challenge.

The snow should be starting any time now. We could get anywhere between 6 - 14 inches by tomorrow night. So it will be a white Christmas here in MN. See back tomorrow for sketch 5.

TGF's 12 Days of Sketches! - Sketch 3

Day 3 of the 12 day challenge. Sorry for the short posts but I'm also trying to get 4 8X8 albums done by mid January. I'm up to Halloween but haven't done any of the journaling or titles yet. I'll have day 4 for you tomorrow, stay tuned.

School Christmas Party

Today was Addison's first school Christmas party. She dressed up and had her hair curled at Chez Beautay (that's our pretend salon). She was so excited to give her teachers their gifts. We had a great time decorating her gingerbread house. I have to admit I kind of took over the candy placement. This is the reason we don't do abrakadoodle class anymore, I can't control myself when it comes to craft projects. We finished the house and were admiring our work when I noticed the other kids houses. You see their mothers aren't OCD. They actually let their children decorate the house themselves. The Horror! They had huge piles of icing smeared everywhere and candy all over. Addison's house had a door with knob, windows, shingles with trim, and candy cane corners. Sorry Sis, your stuck with me. Some day you will do the same thing to your kids, it's genetic.

My Not So Christmas Card

I couldn't wait to use my new Mistletoe Snowhill stamp Amy sent me. Isn't she sweet? I'm kind of burnt out on Christmas so I decided to go a different direction with her. The berries on the mistletoe made me think of this Basic Grey paper I squired away months ago. The pearls are in two different colors and I added some stardust pen to give her wings some sparkle. Well I better get going, it's time to go to ATC club. Later gator

A Kiss Under the Mistletoe

Santa came early to my house yesterday. Look what I got in the mail! Well my Santa is the fabulously talented Amy (A thousand sheets of paper). She sent me a beautiful card and if that's not enough a goodie bag with some great paper, embellishments, and MISTLETOE SNOWHILL STAMP! I was jumping for joy. FFF: K.I.S.S.: KEEP IT SIMPLY SHAPED

The Greeting Farm Farm Fresh Friday Challenge is to KISS this week. Keep It Simply Shaped.

So here are the RULES:*Create a card using our K.I.S.S. technique: KEEP IT SIMPLY SHAPED. This means NO Die cuts, Nesties, and no more than ONE punch. You MAY create layers, but all shapes must be cut with a straight trimmer aka squares/ rectangles. You MAY embellish, but don't go crazy.

Well with all those rules it made for a very quick card. This is for my friends baby shower. And yes, I only used 1 punch like the rules say. From start to finish it took about one hour to make.

Stamp: Oh Baby
CS: SU Pretty in Pink (grid embossed)
Copics: E00, E01, E02, R20, R21, 0, Y00, Y02, Y11, B0000
Punch: SU word window
Ribbon: Making Memories

"The COMPLETE Package"

Update: This is my entry for the Crazy 4 Challenges Treat Package Challenge.

Club Anya is having a really fun challenge this week.

RULES:Create a Handmade Gift using an ANYA or IAN stamp (no sprouts, H/g, etc.) You can make a card to go with it, but the contest entries must include some sort of handmade gift and/or packaging for a gift. This can be a box, ornament, wreath, centerpiece, ANY kind of gift...just has to be more than a card.

I love to make things besides the usual card from time to time. This is a gift for a friend this Christmas. The gift card is for a family movie night (2 movie rentals, 2 soft drinks, and a tub of popcorn). So what little Anya goes perfect with a movie night, well Showtime Anya of course.

The box is a "fry box" template, then I made the filler with black card stock. Anya is the ring master of this show. Her ribbon on the hat and her barrette and the stripes on the popcorn bucket are paper pieced from the same DP as the fry box. I used liquid applique for the popcorn and a little yellow glaze pen for the butter. She is colored with Copic markers. The tag is made with the Stampin Up tag corner punch and I added the stitch outline with pen.

Stamp: Showtime Anya
DP: DCWV
Copics: C5, C7, C9, E50, E51, E93, R00, R24, R27, R29, E31, E35, E57
liquid applique
ribbon: Stampin Up

I'm still here.

Sorry about the lack of blogging this week. I don't know what happened to the week. I do some things in the works. The Club Anya release blog hop is coming up on the 14th, and I have lots to show you. I hope to also get my project for the Complete Package Challenge finished and posted tomorrow. It's been such a crazy week, eye exam, dentist office, half a foot of snow, and teaching a class on top of feeling under the weather.

So what's on the to do list?
  • wrap presents
  • finish Complete Package Challenge project
  • get Christmas cards in the mail
  • clean the bomb site we call the guest bedroom
  • make a baby shower card and get gift in the mail
  • sleep
  • eat

So who saw Glee this week? I can't believe I have to wait until Spring for a new episode. It's going to be a long winter.

I Love Santa my A$%!

This is how my weekend went. All day Sunday Addison asked, "When are we going to see Santa?". Once we get there I stand in line while her father occupies her with popcorn. I finally make it to the front and call her over for her turn. She takes one look at Santa a FREAKS OUT! You would have thought he was holding bloody ax the way she flipped out. Like her shirt? Ya, she really loves Santa, can't you tell? So much for the Christmas card picture. I may not get my cards out until January at the rate.

Stamper's Night Before Christmas

My sister sent this to me, enjoy.

Twas the night before Christmas, I’m glued to the tree.I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.Could it be cardstock or inkpads or lace?Or some stamps, I said, with a smile on my face. And that’s when I heard him……“Hi Santa, ” I saidHe replied, “You know….good girls should be in their beds”.“I know I should Santa, and now I’ve been caught. But I was just so excited to see what you brought.”“Well, let’s take a look in this room where you work”.He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear.“You’ve got enough crap,I’ll see you next year!”

Christmas Teacher Gifts

Before you get into my post for today I'm going to toot my own horn for a second. My Little Sweetie card is one of the featured 12 days of Christmas cards on Club Anya today. It's the eight cand colored layers. Go check it out here.

This is my first year to have teachers to buy gifts for. I never know what to do and worry about is it to little or to much. So I made note pads with matching gift card holders. The gift card template you can find here:

I made a few tweaks of my own. Rounded all the corners and added the ribbon and the extra DP for the inside.
CS: SU Garden Green
DP: Martha Stewart Frosty Gingerbread
Ribbon: Michaels
Quickuts gingerbread cookie cutter die
Punch: Martha
Gingerbread Felt Ribbon: Martha

Here you can see my gingerbread boy and girl I scuffed with brown ink and added the white with gell pen.

Back side

In bags with toppers. I used the SU top notes die and a gingerbread man punch I got from Michaels last year. Then put some kraft paper behind him so he pops.

Holiday ATC

Today I have a sneak peek at my Holiday ATC for Wendy's swap group. The stamp is Tim Holtz First Christmas. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to make the background paper (Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap, Fired Brick). The poinsettia and leaves are from Hero Arts with a little Tim Holtz walnut stain Stickels in the center. I stitched the charm on with tread.

I seem to have a Tim Holtz theme going today. Tim Holtz is going to be putting his spin on the 12 Tags of Christmas once again! You are NOT going to want to miss out on the inspiration. Check out Tim's blog to share in the daily creative inspiration that he will share with all of us beginning December 1st and running through December 12th.

RED ALERT: Today is TGF release day. If you go to their blog you can download a FREE Marina Digi!
