Konnichi Wa

I love all things Asian. Isn't Geisha Anya to die for? I spotted this pattern paper and thought it was perfect for her. I made the card on the right for a friends daughter for her birthday. I had the perfect sized scraps left over to make another so the card on the left was born.

Stamp: Geisha Anya from The Greeting Farm
Diamond Stickles
Copics: E000, R37, R39, 100, C5, C7,
Cardstock: SU Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
Pattern Paper: Best Creation Inc.

Well, she is a rock star to a 3 year old.

I was stumped when I read about Club Anya's Rebel Rocker contest. I thought I may not enter when nothing came to mind. The challenge was to create your favorite rockstar out of an Anya or Ian stamp. Then my 3 year old came up with the perfect answer. Deedee Doodle! If you don't have a preschooler you may not know who the Doodlebops are (consider yourself lucky), but to a 3 year old Deedee is a Rock God. Now that I think about it, I would take the Doodlebops over Hanna Montana any day of the week. I used Nurse Anya because she had the perfect hair and dress shape.

The masking was a little difficult and I can't draw to save my life, but here she is. It may be hard to see but the background is embossed with a checkerboard texture plate. And your not seeing things, Deedee's skin is pale purple.

Happy Belated St. Patty's Day

I have to explain the picture with the fingers in the ears.

Conversations with a 3 year old.

Addison with fingers in ears: "Mommy I can't hear you."

Mommy: "You can't?"

Addison: "I can't hear you."

Mommy: "Do you want a popsicle?"

Addison: "Yes!"

Tink ATC

If your in Wendy's ATC swap your getting a sneak peek today. Isn't Tink a cutie, and she has more fairy friends at The Greeting Farm and a Peter Pan set coming in April. These stamps are my new crack (my old crack was Copic markers) if you haven't noticed. I must apologize once again for my hot mess of camera work. Don't you think my sweet hubby should get me a new fancy schmancy one? Well you know what they say about wishing. Put a wish and one hand and s#$t in the other and see which one fills up first. Has anyone else ever heard that saying? It's a classic from my best friends mom when we were little. Now that I think about it I can't repeat most of the sayings I learned from her. Hey Ann, remember what she would say if you asked her were she got something? HeHeHe

The cardstock Tink is on I got at Anchor Paper. It's an awesome paper warehouse we have here in the Twin Cities. For us paper junkies it's like the mother ship calling you home. The paper is very shimmery and I embossed it with the cuttlebug. Tinks wings are painted with LuminArte iridescent green (once again, sorry about my poor photography). The sentiment is from Lizzie Anne, and always makes me think of a gay pride parade. You have to know my weird sense of humor to get me sometimes, sorry.

Stamps: Tink from The Greeting Farm, Fairy Saying from Lizzie Anne, little butterfly from A Muse
Cuttlebug folder: tiny bubbles
Brad: Doodlebug
LuminArte: Iridescent Green
Copics: Y11, Y15, BG10, R20, E00, E30, BG49

The Case of the Curious Card II

Here he is, my entry for The Case of the Curious Card at The Greetings Farm. Gabby always has such unique ideas. I would never had tried using all the grey if it weren't for this challenge. It was a lot of fun. I really did some digging in my stash for all the hot pink hearts. I went crazy with texture with my paper. The hot pink if fuzzy paper, the silver is glitter paper, the large heart is glitter paper, and I put Ian on the "moon" for some more texture.
Stamps: Space Ian (The Greeting Farm), To the Moon (A Muse)
Copics: 100,C0, C1, C3, C5, E30
Prismacolor: Process Red PM-1
Moon: Cuttlebug embossing folder, grey chalk
Paper: Doodlebug, Rockstar (DCWV)
Heart Ghosts: Heidi Swapp, Queen & Co.
Punch: SU heart

Club Anya Card Carrying VIP Member Swap

I had the envelope of swaps closed before I realized my pictures could have been much better. Sorry! In this swap we are to make our own version of a membership card 3 1/2 x 4 1/2. I liked the idea of making it an ATC you can remove from the card. I made a pocket with 3 1/4x3 1/4 clearbags. The VIP crab was stamped with StazOn on shrinky dinks.

Stamps: Mermaid Anya from The Greeting Farm, Crabby from Rubber Soul
Nestabilities: small labels
Cuttlebug tiny bubbles embossing folder

Red & Black StazOn

Erin go Bragh

Don't peek if your in my ATC Swap group. Who am I kidding, I know you're going to peek. Yes, I already have my cards done for this month. They like to tease me about always having them done in advance. It's the OCD, I can't sleep if I have a due date in my head.

I love St. Patrick's Day and wish I had more opportunities to use my stamps. The theme is leprechauns and fairies this month. I know I really didn't take that literally. I just thought this was an interesting stamp.

I have another Anya coming soon. Just have to get it photographed and record the details.

Stamps: Storage Units, Ink & More
Nestabilities: Scallop Circle SM, Curved Rectangles
Pattern Paper: Basic Grey
Copic Markers: R29, R39, B41, YR23, YG03, E00
Punch: 1 3/8 Circle Punch

Pom-Pom Tutorial

When I uploaded the following images I realized two things. 1. I need lotion and a manicure (thanks Minnesota winters) & 2. I have my mothers hands, like two bricks on my wrists.

Hold on to your hats, here we go.

1. I started with 6 pieces of DMC floss about 8 inches long. I'm sure you could do this with any type of string, I just have tons of colors in DMC. Use more or less for the size of pom-pom you want.

2. Wrap it around your finger (not so tight that you can't get it off).

3. Take it off your finger.

4. Tie a spare piece of DMC around the middle of your bundle of floss making a "belt".

5. Tie several knots, you don't want this coming untied.

6. Cut all the loops on both sides of your "belt".

7. Hold the cut ends in two fingers.

9. While still holding on to your "squeeze" give your pom-pom a hair cut to the appropriate width.

10. Glue to your image. I use Zip Dry, you want something strong and that dries fast. Fluff your pom-pom and your done.

2..4..6..8.. Anya's who we Appreciate!

I know, that title is cheesy. I couldn't help myself. This was a lot of fun to make. It's good to change things up and think in 3-D. It all started with Cheer Anya from the Greeting Farm and this Martha Stewart felt pennant garland (from the clearance aisle, money saver!). The card is a stair step fold I found on Splitcoaststampers. You cut your paper to 10.5X5. Then score at 1.25, 2.5, 4.25, 6, and 8.25. Then I added the back piece that the pennant is attached to. I didn't have any ribbon with red and green and the width I wanted so I made my own (money saver!). I used red A Muse ribbon and colored the white stitches green with the Copic marker I used on her uniform. I made the pom-poms with DMC floss I had around. I want to make a tutorial for you. I think it will be much easier understand than written instructions. Stay Tuned!
Copic Markers: Eoo, BG10, R29, R39, YG05, G05, E33, E37, R20
Cardstock: SU Real Red, Pale Green, fuzzy turquoise dot, turquoise Archivers
Cuttlebug embossing folder: D'vine Swirl
Pom-Poms: DMC Floss
Felt Pennant Garland: Martha Stewart at Micheal's
Punch: Marvy Southwest
