Farm Fresh Friday Sketch by Cindy Challenge

I can't believe it is Wednesday already. I made out my calender for Oct. last night. OMG! It is crazy. It's going to be very difficult to keep up with everything plus stamping. I'm tired just thinking about it. But enough belly aching and on with the card.

This weeks Farm Fresh Friday Challenge was to case this sketch from Cindy Haffner.

At first I thought this card was going to be a bust, but I ended up liking how it turned out. The bats wings are popped up a bit and the center green paper is on pop dots.

Pearls and Posies

I made this card for the last DT application. I had to use brown, red, and white. I had just found a bag full of vintage pearl beads at a yard sale and was itching to use them. The knitted posies I found in the hot spot at Archivers. These little suckers can be pricey so I grabbed up what I could get.

Back from Scrapfest 2009

Look at these crazy women. I heard it a few times from passers by during Scrapfest. I went with 3 friends (from left to right, Mary, Carrie, Me, and Kristina) this year, and we had a blast. Even with a missing car and car sickness. Oh, and dealing with a stalker. All day Friday and Saturday I did make and takes, and today I had classes. I took Making Memories Bursting With Color, Bo Bunny Whoo's There? Hide & Seek Page, and Hero Arts Cards that Give. They were all good classes. I meet Cambria Turnbow who said she has seen my blog. I was shocked! My poor little blog doesn't get much love when it comes to comments so I never know who is visiting. Give me a shout out girls. I love to see who's looking. My Hero Arts class was taught be Shari Carroll and Jennifer McGuire. I also saw Teresa Collins, Julianna Hudgins from Sizzix, Marianne Walker (copic goddess), Julie Comstock from Cosmo Cricket. Is that enough name dropping? I will take pictures of all my loot.

My house looks like a bomb went off. The scraproom because of all the crap I came home with from Scrapfest, the rest of the house because my husband has been watching my daughter the past 3 1/2 days. I guess tomorrow will be cleaning day. That's the price you pay for the love of paper.

Here are a few pics. of samples at the Cosmo Cricket booth. Sorry for the poor pics. I had to take my little camera.

Busy Day

I haven't stopped moving all day. Up at 6:30 to go to the Junk Bonanza. Lots of fun looking for treasures.
This was my favorite booth. Lots of eye candy.
Addison enjoying this vanity.
Did you know it's now in style to use a old rim as a centerpiece? This is the second one I've seen. The other looked better because it was painted white.

Leave Junk Revolution go home, get child to potty, wash face, take her medicine, change clothes and comb hair. Take her to school. head to local junk market in Apple Valley. Found metal hardware box that matches the one I got last month (will have to do some paper covering). Went to Target for a few groceries. Go home, put up groceries and unload car. Get packed up for Scrapfest. Pick Sis up at school. Drive her to her Daddy at work so I can get to scrapfest on time. Stand in line to register for Scrapfest. Shopping at the special hot spot, stand in line for 45 minutes to check out. Finally at Scrapfest Kick Off Crop!

This year the big crop was sponsored by Sizzix. Maybe I shouldn't compare year to year since it's a different company, but last years was much better. Last year everyone got a t-shirt, a bag, a nice project, the complete Little Yellow Bicycle holiday line of paper, goodie bags, and food. This year you got a nice goodie bag from Archivers, a Sizzix goodie bag, No shirt, No bag, No FOOD. They did give away nice prizes to maybe 7 people. For a $45 crop you expect a little more than what it was. Spent to much time shopping. They had some awesome 3.99 grab bags. They were gone in a second. Well I have to be up at 7:00 and get back to the mall. Back to standing in line.

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge #7

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge.
I have been working on Halloween cards for my up coming Greeting Farm class at Smudges. Jack here was begging for some dimension so I popped his face up 2 more levels. I love the way the color on his face came out.
I can't wait for fall, it's my favorite season. The colors are so beautiful. Can you believe October is a few weeks away. It always sneaks up on me. Addison's 4th birthday is right around the corner and I have no idea what we are going to do for it. I think we will keep it low key this year. Last years extravaganza just about did me and my wallet in. This year she wants a My Little Pony party, all because she saw a cake at Target. I was all prepared to do a pig theme and she changed it on me. The whole pony thing does not have me inspired at all.

Anyone For Anya Buttons, Bows, and Brads Challenge

This is for the Anyone For Anya Buttons, Bows, and Brads Challenge. Wow, that's a mouth full. You guessed it, the challenge was to use buttons, bows, and brads. What you use is up to you and you can use just one or two or all three. I did brads and a bow. This is for my friends birthday and I have a boy birthday card coming also. Stay tuned for that one.

Today was my first day of school as a pre-school mom. I did just fine and didn't cry. Addison loved it. She didn't even say goodbye to me, just walked right in the room. When I picked her up she gave me a big hug and said "Thanks for taking me to pre-school Mommy." Her teacher said when they sang the ABC's she was the loudest. The poor lady hasn't a clue what she's in for.

Crazy 4 Challenges

I am crazy for challenges but this card is for the new Crazy4 Challenges blog. I know that's all I need more challenges. Well this card is a milestone for me, my first digi. I have never tried a digi because I wasn't real confident on how my printer ink would hold up with my Copics. I was pleasantly surprised, it worked great. I saw this image on Mo's Digital Pencil. They have great stuff. My daughters first day of pre-school is Thursday (I'm a nervous wreck) and this card is for her teacher. The sweet rabbits reminded me of how I feel right now sending my baby out into the world. So are you shocked that my first digi wasn't an Anya? Me too. I have a back to school ATC due this month and thought this image would work well.

Happy Day and the It's what inside that Counts Challenge

Oh Happy Day! Guess what I woke up to this morning? My very own card featured on The Greeting Farm blog! Yahhhh! Go check it out, I'm super psyched.
Onto today's challenge card. This is for The Greetings Farm Farm Fresh Friday Inside Counts Challenge. I cut the star in my card with the Sizzix Movers & Shapers and the SU Sizzix star punch window mover. I knew I wanted the word music on the DP to be on the card so I ran it down the side. For a little glitter I highlighted the blue design with pearlescent watercolors. The rock star stamp is from SU A Little Somethin'. Stitches with metallic thread gave it a little sparkle. The acetate shapes I've had for awhile and don't have clue who they are from. Rockstar Anya is colored with Copics.

I wanna be just like Lisa Chanllenge

Head over the Club Anya to see the latest challenge "I wanna be just like Lisa Hjulberg". I thought it was time to pull out all my Halloween goodies. Everything came from my stash. The paper was left over from a MM project, the rub-ons are from Martha S. last year and so is the bat border punch. I decided to step out of my Copic box and do some heat embossing and water coloring with markers.
