What I'm looking at this week.

Is it Monday already? What happened to the weekend? My husband is off work this week and my brother-in-law is visiting so I am completely off schedule. The boys are spend the week letterboxing and doing things around the house on bad weather days. The plan is to paint our master bedroom again. The last time they painted it the taupe color came out gray, so it looks like a prison cell. I can't believe it's time to pull out all the Christmas decorations already. The lights should go up on the outside of the house today. We are having Thanksgiving on Tuesday while they are at the house and the weather isn't so good. They don't want to waste a good weather day on Thursday. We went letterboxing Saturday in the sweetest little town called Scandia. It's the home of the first Swedish settlers in Minnesota. There are cute Swedish horses all over the town, Addison wanted her picture taken with all of them. On the way home we stopped in Forest Lake at a scrapbook store Memories and More. They have a great selection of Just Rite Stampers. If your near Roseville it's not to far away, so go check them out.

Here's what I found fun and interesting this week:
Amy's great tutorial for altering Anya's:
I have my samples for the next class at Smudges ready. I should get it scheduled tomorrow. More info. to come.

A Meme Original & a 3 in 1 challenge card

Look what came to live at my house! Isn't she adorable. She is just adorable, down to her pig tales. The fabulous Donna (Meme's Art Place) made her for me. Sweet Pea is my daughter if you were wondering. Donna is so talented. You may remember her from this post. She was just published in Somerset Studio Gallery Winter 2010 Magazine,on page 19. Grab a copy and check her out.

This card covers 3 challenges
1.) Anyone For Anya - Getting Round To It: use anything round
3.) TGF Farm Fresh Friday: In this challenge you can't use any designer paper
You can't really see my glitter tree background in the picture, bummer. This was a quicky since I already had the image done from a goof I made last week. That made is so easy to put together. I covered the jacket in glitter also. Lots of glitter going on in this one (you should see my pants).

Stamp Club Fun

Thought I would share the super cute projects we did at stamp club last night. Kristina really out did herself this month. Do you love the punch art nutcracker? The snow globe snowmen are popped up 3 layers, giving a great effect to the already 3-D treat cup. Everything is from Stampin Up.

So did you watch Glee tonight? How does this show keep getting better! What was your favorite song? My vote was for I'll Stand By You. I totally have a crush on Puck. Gotta love a bad boy.

Wild Week 2

It's time for Part 2 of the Where the Wild Things Are challenge at The Greeting Farm. This was a sketch challenge using Marina's cute stamps (or digi's). I used Maggie Bunny. Isn't she sweet. The other great part of Marina's art work is how she shadows the image. If your not sure where to put the shadow this makes it so much easier.
Today also the monthly release party at Club Anya. Go check out the new releases. They will blow you away.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a busy Saturday and PJ Sunday. I thought we should get all the Thanksgiving shopping done since I have a busy week this week. I have 2 club meetings, volunteering at my daughters school, and my brother-in-law coming for a few weeks. Well everyone else in town must have had the same idea. Walmart was a mad house, and the shelves were half empty. I spent afternoon wrapping Christmas gifts. This may sound odd, but it was on my pre-company coming list. I hide all the gifts in the guest bedroom, therefore with a guest coming I had to make room. So the gifts are wrapped and piled in a closet. I'm not done shopping, but I do have a good dent in it. I can't believe I will be dragging all the decorations out next week. I'm tired just thinking about it.

What I'm looking at this week.

So who watched Glee last night? First Kristin Chenoweth and now Defy Gravity, could this show get any better? I got my Ipod back up and running just so I could download it from Itunes. I worked on it until 1:30 a.m. (It's the only "alone" time I have). Today I'm going with friends to a big craft show. Can't wait to see what I find.

I saw part of the movie Fargo on TV the other day. I must buy a copy. I have a new outlook on the movie since moving the Minnesota 2 years ago. It totally cracks me up now. The whole conversation between the cops about how a the killer can't be from Brainerd. My favorite is the 2 prostitutes, one from Chaska and one from White Bear Lake "Go Bears"! (Yes, people here do talk like they do in the movie) There are a lot of movies filmed around my area, like Juno and Grumpy Old Men. It's totally different to watch when you know the places they are talking about. Which makes me think of my favorite line in Juno, which I would love to have a stamp of, "Your Eggo is Prego". What movies make you think of home?

Here are a few things that caught my eye.

Sneak Peeks of the new Anya's

Cute Bingo Card
Love the paper & ribbon combo
Cute Luminary

Myster Monday Pattern Me Not & A4A 3-2-1 Recipe

I had a very exciting phone call from a long time friend last night. You guessed it, she's pregnant. I couldn't wait to make her a card with my new Mom & Dad set from TGF. She doesn't know what she is having yet, so I tried to make it gender neutral.
This card also qualifies for 2 challenges:
1) Mystery Monday Pattern Me Not challenge at Club Anya.
2) Anyone for Anya 3-2-1 Recipe Challenge. I had to use 3 pieces of paper not including the base (I used white, blue, & yellow), 2 buttons (mini hearts in the right corner), and 1 bow.

This weeks Farm Fresh Friday challenge is a two week contest/guest designer search. You can see all the details at The Greeting Farm, but here is what it boils down to. They are looking for a guest designer to work specifically with the images by Marina Neira. How cool would that be? Marina's images are so adorable. I can't wait to see what else she creates for TGF.
I decided to make a little winter luminary. It's a 5 1/2" X 10 3/8" piece of cardstock, scored at 2 1/2", 5", 7 1/2" and 10". Then turn the cardstock and score at 1 1/2". I embossed the vellum and cardstock with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder, then toped it with the Martha border punch.

I Wanna Be Just Like Anita Challenge

I made this card for the I Wanna Be Just Like.....Anita Hovey Challenge at Club Anya. The challenge was to case one of Anita's cards. I originally goofed and made this card using Vivi instead of an Anya or Ian. I'm sure you will see that image in another card later. The hardware frame I used from Stampin Up was originally vanilla. I wanted to make it a little pink, so I colored it with my Copics. The stamp in the frame says Winter Wishes with a snowflake, so I added some glitter to the flake.

What I'm looking at this week.

You seemed to like my list of blogs I pointed out last week, so I'm doing it again. Sorry for the lack of my own work. Things have been crazy around here. I finally started the 4 (yes, I said 4) 8 X 8 gift albums I have to make for Christmas presents. I really dug myself a grave by starting this when my daughter was born. I mentioned that this year maybe I wouldn't do them. Well the response was not favorable. The family basically told me to get off my butt and get to work. Maybe I will get caught up if I do a page (well 4 of the same) a day. Anyway, here is some of the great stuff I'm looking at this week.

Deal of the Season: HSN 6 Cuttlebug holiday folders for $19.95 (one is a HSN exclusive that won't be sold in stores) Go to and search for cuttlebug
New Wiff of Joy Gnomes:
I just really like this Penny Black stamp:

PS: For those of you that wanted to see my little pig.

OMG! Go see what Amy did!

You must go to Amy's blog and see what she did with one of my class kits. This is the original card for the kit. She amazes me. The sentiment really hit home after the weekend I've had. She also has some super awesome blog candy! Check out her new stamp line at All the Scraps being released tonight.
