Happy 4th from up North!

I've been having fun making some fast favors for a 4th of July party we are invited to. All my inspiration came from magazines this week. I saw the fans in Martha Stewart Living (page 44 July 09 issue) and the Lifesaver firecrackers in Family Fun Magazine (page 20 July 09 issue). I just tweaked it to make them mine.

I found the best deal on the paper fans from http://www.houserice.com/. I purchased some extra so you will seeing them again some time. They just scream Geisha Anya. I thought they needed a string so you can carry it around your wrist when not in use. Thus the tag was born. I did also stamp the bamboo front and back piece with red Stazon. I don't recommend this unless your brave. The bamboo isn't flat and very slick, much like stamping on acetate the way the stamp slips so easily.

Stamps: Papertrey Let Freedom Ring, Simply Stamped

CS & Ink: SU Real Read & Night of Navy

Circle Punches: 1 3/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/8

DMC Floss

The Lifesaver firecrackers were so quick and easy. It's just a 3.5X3 inch piece of paper then add a 3X1.5 band for interest. The sparkler top is a Wilton Patriotic Foil Fun Pix (12 for .99) stuck down through the middle of the Lifesaver roll. Do you have any idea how hard it is the find a roll of Lifesavers anymore? All you see is the gummie ones anymore. If you are going to make a lot I would check Sams of Costco. I will have to see if any of the dollar stores have them.

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge

This Fridays challenge is to use 3 TGF stamps. I sure hope this qualifies since technically it's 2 stamps. To make the tiger I used the lion and cut off the main. I've been waiting to use this paper and when I saw the number 3 in the challenge this popped in my head. I love Wizard of Oz so it's not really that weird. So what do you think of my crazy read and green tiger? I was nervous to have to hand draw the stripes myself but it really was very easy. I had to add the Oh My! inside, just couldn't resist. What occasion would you use this for? Do you make a lot of non-occasion themed cards too? Wow, I'm full of questions tonight. I sure hope it qualifies for the challenge. The prize is 3 Anya Stamps of your choice! I would be in HEAVEN!

Inchies and a random thought

Here are some inchies made with the little Hero Arts stamps Archivers is selling. They are such cute images. The cows are fuzzy with fun flock and the frogs have glossy accent on them.

Random Thought: Do you think when she hits the brakes hard all the stuffed animals go flying and smack her in the back of the head?

Vintageish ATC

Warning: If your in Wendy's ATC group and don't want to see it before you get it in the mail don't look.

I ran across some Woman's Day Magazines from the 40's at a yard sale and fell in love with the old ads. The mixer is from Clear Art Stamps and looks exactly like the one my grandmother had. I remember her making mashed potatoes and the steam rising out of the mixer bowl as she cut each potato up and threw it in. This was a rare threat since we only got instant potatoes at home that somewhat resembled the taste and texture of paste. Thus an ATC is born. I promise it looks better in person. I so want a better camera for close up work.

Ads from 1940's
Stamp - Clear Art Stamps Sweet Stuff
Copic - C0, C3, E41, BG10
1 3/8 circle punch
yellow scallop circle punch
Ribbon - May Arts
CS - SU Real Red

Black n White Sketch Challenge

Are you shocked that I posted? Me too, I seem to be getting nothing done fast these days.

The Greeting Farm is having a Black n White Sketch Challenge. Well technically black, white, and gray. Thanks so much to WickedPixie for your hair tutorial. I was trying her technique and thought, "Hay I could do that challenge with this." I love the way her hair came out. With all the gray she just didn't look right on white so I colored the background of both DP with my copics. It's hard to tell in the photo but the ribbon is a white ruffle with gray grosgrain on top.

Stamp: Hula Anya the Greeting Farm
Copic: C1, C3, C5, C7, 100
flowers: Prima
DP: Papertrey black and white basics, DCWV blk & wht Splats
