Farm Fresh Friday Challenge #6

Arigato, This weeks Farm Fresh Friday Challenge at TGF is a sketch challenge. I personally prefer a sketch challenge because they come together so much faster. As I've said before, Geisha Anya is my favorite, at least until Dorthy comes out in rubber. (Jessica, If your reading this, I'm poking you again. Dorthy must be rubberized!) So there I was with my sketch looking for a stamp when Geisha Anya spoke to me.

Renaissance Festival

We went to the Renaissance Festival today. The weather was great. Addison wanted to be a fairy and spotted the rainbow wings and wand. She meet a new fairy this year and we hunted down Twig (or favorite fairy).

A picnic on the hill.

Dancing in the center of town.

Some young royalty.

Enjoying a "bratted hot dog" as Addison says.

Elizabeth I presume. I would love to know what this costume cost her. It was unbelievable.

Pickle Fight: They have young shirtless guys selling pickles for $1. One set up his own battle.

Pet Dragon

Rainbow Fairy

Another amazing dress

"I WANNA BE JUST LIKE" Challenge

Club Anya is having another "I WANNA BE JUST LIKE" challenge. I have some birthdays coming up and used this as an opportunity to get some cards ready.

It's going to be a busy weekend. We want to get to the Renaissance Festival, maybe the zoo, and maybe the state fair. The fair is reporting record numbers of people so maybe we will wait for the crowd to die down a little. Weather should be awesome, 66. I can't believe fall is just around the corner. We didn't have much of summer. I think we had one week that got into the 90's.

I have one more challenge on the drawing board. I hope to get that finished and posted. Stay tuned. Have a great weekend!

Paper Bouquet

I saw a tutorial on making paper bouquets on the Cosmo Cricket blog and wanted to try it. Well I made all the flowers and never put it together. I finally got around to it tonight. My base is different than the tutorial. I used a half Styrofoam ball and hot glued everything on. The paper is K & Company Berry Sweet. What do you think?

Land O 10,000 Lakes

I can't claim the original thought for this card. I was teaching a Greeting Farm class when the owner commented that Navajo Anya looked like the Land O Lakes girl. Well I had to give it a try. This is for the Farm Fresh Friday Sketch Challenge 5 on the Greeting Farm blog. Since I live in MN the Land O 10,000 Lakes, I thought it was appropriate. After a little research on the Indian maidens clothes and the packaging I was off. To make the water I used my Copic airbrush. The trees are from the new Martha S. border punch that is the Christmas village. I cut each one off the stripe and adhered them in rows. A little shading with the Copics added a shore line. The challenge was to use stitching in some was with the sketch. It felt like it needed an outline so I used brown DMC floss stitch around the image.

I little luggage ATC

For ATC club this month I made everyone a suitcase. The stamp is from Limited Edition and is from their Matchbox Marvels. I wish you could still buy them. I colored with my SU color pencils and used the blender pen. Something a little different for a change.

Jessica's Sketch Challenge

*** 2 posts today, make sure you scroll down ***

Wow, 5 days and 5 challenges. I can't believe I got it done. The challenge was to create a card using your favorite sketch and any Anya or Ian stamp. I like that I get to choose the sketch I used. This sketch is from Lauri at Just Give Me Stamps. It came together very quickly, got to love that.

Crazy Hair Day Challenge

Leave it to Traci (master of hair) to have the crazy hair challenge. The DMC floss idea popped in my head as soon as I read about the challenge on the Club Anya blog. I won't lie, it is tedious to do. I won't be teaching this in any of my classes. I basically poked holes around the hair line and stitched away. Hey do you think this would cover the Farm Fresh Friday challenge?

Smile and Shine Challenge

*** 2 Posts Today - make sure to scroll down ***+
The Smile and Shine Challenge at Club Anya is all about bling. I needed a birthday card for a friend that loves cupcakes so I figured if a girl can pop out of a cake why not a cupcake. I mixed acrylic paint and gesso to make a frosting like pink top. I hinged it with a brad so the top opens to reveal Birthday Anya. The paper is the new Happy Anyaversary paper from The Greeting Farm. It has the cutest patterns. I crimped it to look like a cupcake paper cup.

Club Anya is having a week of challenges. Well it's Wednesday and I just got the Monday challenge done. This whole mom thing is really getting in the way of my stamping time.

I need a vacation from my vacation!

I'm back from Michigan and exhausted. We had a good time on our letterboxing trip. We came home with 60 finds. Tim and I had a day on Mackinac Island were we got 20 alone. It was exhausting, 14 miles on bike, and 3 or 4 miles on foot in one day. This is the first time I lost weight on vacation.

We went down and back up 190 stairs to get to Sugar Loaf Rock.

Addison and I in the row boat going to the island at Tahquamenon Falls.
My new boat parked at the marina.

Sis on the beach at Whitefish Point.
Round Island lighthouse from close up. Yep, we did some extreme letterboxing. We took a little jet boat across Lake Huron to get a box on the deserted island.
Addison enjoying the view.
