A Must Read

This blog post at Taylored Expressions is a MUST READ. #4 is a topic of conversation weekly at our house. I had to send this to my hubby, just to let him know he is not alone. I was surprised that having to stop at every crafting store from home to anywhere you travel wasn't mentioned.

Stair Step Card

The hubby is off the Alaska and I'm at home with my 4 year old for 2 weeks. It's day two and I'm already losing it. Why can the same phrase said over and over 15 or 20 times seem like so much fun to her and finger nails down a chalkboard to me? That reminds me, I just got a new bottle of wine I could open. Hmmmm, how can I get her to go to bed early tonight?

This little cutie is for two challenges:

1) There She Goes: Stair Step Card
2) The Pink Elephant: Pink & Black Challenge
Stamps: TSG A Woman's Place, Domestic Goddess
DP: MM Sabrina

Oh, Alice Chapter 19: Twinkle, Twinkle

"Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!
How I wonder what you're at!"

You know the song, perhaps?'

`I've heard something like it,' said Alice.

`It goes on, you know,' the Hatter continued, `in this way:--

"Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea-tray in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle--"'

Here the Dormouse shook itself, and began singing in its sleep `Twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, twinkle--' and went on so long that they had to pinch it to make it stop."

Hello out there! It's a beautiful day here in Wonderland and a twinkling one at that! We are wrapping up one FABULOUS month with a super fun, no-pressure challenge! We are going to ring out the month of June with a Twinkle!

That's right, just use something Twinkling, Glittery, or Sparkly on your card or creation this week and we'll put on our shades :D

I went Art Deco this week. I purchased this stamp from Alpha Stamps months ago and have been waiting to use her. I thought this Stampin Up designer paper Nouveau Chic worked perfectly. So all my twinkle is black crystals, the frame is from Prima. The sketch I based my card on is from Mojo Monday week 144 challenge. Come join the fun at Oh Alice and check out the rest of the design team (links in my sidebar).

A VERY special thanks to Lynne Phelps, our June Guest Designer! It has been a pleasure having you at our twisted little table and we will miss you! Next week we will be back to announce our July Guest DT and have more tricks and treats up our sleeves....'til then, there's no time limit to play this week, so get your twinkle on and be sure to come back and let us know when you did!

Have a very twinkling week!

I'm a Colour Q Courtier

Another happy dance today. My laundry card won me a spot as a Colour Q Courtier this week. I think this card must be a winner (so far 2 mentions from the 3 challenges I entered it in). If I get 3 for 3 (should know Friday) I will have to give out some blog candy. You can see the Colour Q challenge here.

Good Buddies

Hi everyone. Is it as hot where you are as it is here? In the 90's today so of course this was the day I was out side all afternoon. My DD had her first play group at the park this morning. I wish it was everyday. Two hours to myself was wonderful. Then we went to swimming lessons followed by playing on the neighbors trampoline and sprinkler all afternoon. So what did I do with my 2 hours of uninterrupted bliss? Clean? No, don't be silly; I made a card.

Oh, Alice Chapter 18: Crazy for Daisy Chains

Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothing to do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures or conversations in it, and where is the use of a book, thought Alice, without pictures or conversations? So she was considering in her own mind, (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel very sleepy and stupid,) whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain was worth the trouble of getting up and picking the daisies, when a white rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her. "

Hello everyone!

We have lots of fun to share today at Oh, Alice! We have a fun new sketch w/ a twist from our very own Tasha. Here's the sketch:
The Twist? Use a DAISY or some sort of similar flower and incorporate it on your card! Nothin' like a little FLOWER POWER to kick start your mojo, Alice always says!

What's more? We have a WONDERFUL Sponsor today, Tickled Pink Stamps! Our friend and fellow Tea Party Member, our dear "TWISTY KRISTY" has organized a wonderful prize today from Tickled Pink Stamps! One lucky winner from this week's entries will receive a prize. In addition, our own Twisted Thirteen got to play with these super-fun stamps.
My original image for this card didn't come out the way it looked in my head. How many times has that happened to you? I wanted the bloomer ribbon to look like the twisted part of the sketch. Maybe if my image was smaller and more of the ribbon were showing. I didn't have many choices for daisies, so I went with the felt and sheer flowers, they add a little texture to balance out the bloomers ribbon. I choice the sentiment since I felt like the image is a bit more macabre. Nothing happy seemed to work.
Stamp: Tickled Pink Stamps Lilith
Sentiment: Sweet Pea
Copic: E50, E51, E93, Y00, Y02, Y06, YG03, G20, BV20, BV23, BV25

Want to play along and get Crazy for Daisies and get sketchy too? Hooray! We'd love to have you! Just upload your card or creation to our InLinkz system and use OAC18 if you're using a public gallery such as SCS. You have until FRIDAY, JUNE 25th at 8pm CST to enter to WIN this fabulous prize from Tickled Pink! Can't wait to see how you get twisty this week! HAVE FUN!

Oh, Alice Chapter 16: What's YOUR Muchness?

The Mad Hatter said to Alice:

"You used to be much muchier before! Yes, you were much more Alice the last time we met. You've lost your muchness..."

Alice replied: "My MUCHNESS?"

The Mad Hatter pointed to her heart and repeated "Yes, your muchness..."

We have MUCH MUCHNESS to be excited about today! Not only are we excited about our new June Guest Designer, but Oh, Alice is THRILLED to welcome a few new FULL-TIME place settings to the Twisted Thirteen!

Edina Art Fair

We ran to the Edina Art Fair after hubby got home from work tonight. I didn't take many pitures since you never know how the artists feel about that. Some freak out and think your trying to copy their work. If your in the Twin Cities area I highly recommend you go, just to look if nothing else. Pea enjoyed her huge $5 snow cone then dumped the juice down the front of her white shirt.

A silhouette of Sweet Pea

For those of you that haven't noticed we refer to my daughter as Sweet Pea or Pea for short. It just kind of fits her. She is very petite and has a contagious smile. When I was browsing my daily blogs I saw this silhouette project on Papertrey's blog. It was so simple I had to try it. I used an exacto to cut mine out and it's quite small (wallet sized) so my corners could be smoother. My husband knew it was Pea immediately so I will take that as a success. I was waiting for some weird answer from him like it was a Rorschach Test.Today I took a last day of school picture to compare to the first day. Time does fly and little ones do grow, even little Peas.

One more teacher card for the last day of school

I just finished my last teacher card for tomorrow(last day of school). I have to admit I love the way it turned out. I always seem to like my cards when I use October Afternoon paper. This is also the first time I tried a Pure Innocence stamp. She's pretty cute if I do say so myself. The sketch I used is from Mojo Monday #141. I can't believe school is over, now when will I get my design team challenges ready?

Thanks to the Teacher

It's that time of year, the last week of school for my preschooler. She has loved her first year of school and her teachers. I wanted to make cards for her 2 main teachers. You get to see one today and the other should be done tomorrow. I used a little inspiration from this and that blog for this one. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers #104. The color inspiration is from The Greeting Farm Farm Fresh Friday photo inspiration challenge. And a large inspiration comes from this card from Debbie Olson.
