Oh, Alice! CHAPTER 6 & a BIG Dormouse Announcement

Chapter 6: The Red Queen's FINE PRINT...

"The Red Queen shook her head, "You may call it 'nonsense' if you like," she said, "but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

This week we're getting down to business and reading the "fine print" at Oh, Alice!

We're also SO excited to be welcoming Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week! WOW! What a lucky group we are! Wendy from Digital Delights has not only graced the DT with some super fun Alice-inspired images to use, but is giving away a TEN DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE to one lucky winner who will be randomly drawn from all the entries this week! THANKS Wendy!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a card using some form of TEXT/Printed DP, Old Book pages, Newspaper print, Old dictionary, etc. We just need to see SOME form of printed text on your card or project!

It was hard to pick which image to use since all of Digital Delights digis are so cute. I used sheet music as my printed text. I also popped up the Queens crown and hearts on her skirt with pop dots. The fun designer paper is from Stampin Up. I colored with Copics, of course.

So what's the big announcement your asking? I have been invited to be Oh, Alice's official Dormouse. What does that mean? Well besides getting to stick around to hang out at the tea party with the fabulous 13 and The Mad Hatter (Jessica) I will be the greeter/good will ambassador for Oh, Alice. I'm here to give all you crafty artists a little TLC from Oh, Alice. I'll be stopping by everyone that participates blog each weeks to welcome you to our curious little challenge blog. Now in the original story at the end of the tea party the March Hare and the Mad Hatter stuff the sleepy Dormouse into a tea pot. Hopefully Jessica won't want to do this to me. I'm choosing to see myself as the Dormouse from Tim Burtons version. Much more heroic (and awake).

Be sure to come back to Oh, Alice again next Saturday for another Sponsored event with another PRIZE up for grabs! If you upload your creation to a public gallery this week, please use keyword OAC6. Challenge deadline is April 2 , at 8 PM CST.
Have a WONDERFUL week in Wonderland, all!

Who you calling a Boho?

Check out the inspiration photo from this weeks Wild Card Wednesday Challenge at Club Anya and Friends. Cute Boho pillow, isn't it? I combined this challenge with the sketch challenge at All That Scraps Weekley Wednesday Challenge.
I like the was it turned out, though I do think the pink photographed a little red. I had a few pieces of old Stampin Up Bali Breeze paper in my stash that worked perfectly with the feel of the pillow.
Come back tomorrow at 12:01 AM for the next Oh, Alice Challenge. It will be lots of fun with one of my favorite new trends.

Playing with the Queen of Hearts

This weeks Kraftin Kimmie Challenge #22 is to use eyelets. Boy, it's been a long time since I used an eyelet. In fact, I just got rid of most of my eyelets a month ago. I had to do a little digging to find these little red flower eyelets. I combined this challenge with the sketch from Friday Sketcher #94 and Flutter By Wednesday's #102 butterfly open challenge. I forgot to mention yesterday the answer to my question of the day. The question was, Who said "A La Peanut Butter Sandwiches"? Well my sister was the only one that got it right. It was The Amazing Mumford. Good job Sis.

OCD at it's best

Look what I did with my The Greeting Farm stamps. I got these cases from Stampin Up (they are in the spring mini). They are a perfect fit and no more trying not to rip the plastic bag they came in. I spent an evening with my trusty label maker and a la peanut butter sandwiches I have the best organized TGF stamps in town.

Question of the day: Who said "a la peanut butter sandwiches"? Don't cheat and go look it up.

WOW, Look at this CANDY!!!

Look at Kadie's fabulous blog candy!!! What a haul!!

BIG NEWS! I'm on the ANYA INK Design Team!!!!

I've got a secret I can finally spill! I've been asked to join the Anya Ink Design Team! This is my lucky year! I was contacted by the fabulous Kristy Young about joining Anya Ink, a The Greeting Farm challenge blog out of Australia. Anya Ink posts a new challenge bi-weekly on Thursdays for us Yanks (that's Friday in Australia). This caused me some confusion since the Aussies say fortnight. I had to ask, "What the heck does fortnight mean?" It sounds like something from Shakespeare. Just consider me the Yankee in King Arthurs Court. Great first impression, the Dumb American. Maybe I'll have to break out "I'm fixin to" on them just to see if I get a reaction. Back to the subject, I'm super excited to joining the Anya Ink Team. You know what else is exciting? You could join me and the rest of these talented artists with a love of The Greeting Farm. How?

Kristy is having a DT Call. Yep, she wants to see what superstars are out there, to see what wonderful creations she can continue to share on this blog. So, if you are up to it (as all of you are!) here are the details:

Email over to Kristy two (2) TGF creations, some personal details about yourself, your blog address and why you would love to join her on the DT. You can email these to her at theyoungs14@optusnet.com.au ...... please send your DT submissions to her by the end of this next week.
This weeks challenge is to use bling. What could be easier than that. Everyone loves bling! The sketch I used is from The Greeting Farms Farm Fresh Friday Challenge. Also, Crazy 4 Challenges Spring Challenge (C4C29), and Anyone 4 Anya's Egg Challenge.

My first official DT project will be on April 2nd. Maybe this celebration needs a little CANDY??? Make sure to come party with me and Anya Ink then.

Stamp: TGF Easter Anya

Bling: Glitter Dome - yellow, lt pink, lt blue, white

Oh, Alice Chapter Five: Who are YOU?

CHAPTER 5: WHOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRRR YOUUUUUUUU?

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

This week we are celebrating SPRING here in Wonderland! And, we have some WONDERFUL winged-things to show off courtesy of this week's sponsor, our very own Jen Shults! Jen's stamp company, Wild Flower Kids, has grown to be a favorite of mine and we are SO honored that she's agreed to sponsor the Oh, Alice! Blog by showcasing one of her new lines "All-A-Flutter"! Jen was gracious enough to provide the DT with some of these wonderfully cute and whimsical images as well...Check them out at the Oh, Alice Blog.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it is to create a card using a CATERPILLAR or BUTTERFLY on your projects this week! You have until Friday, March 26th to submit your entries by 8pm CST. Winner will be announced on Saturday 3/26 during our next challenge and the WINNER will receive the "All-a-Flutter" digital images from Jen! This week's keyword is OAC5.

That's about it! Just upload your card and link to Mr. Linky, and we'll stop by to see your amazing creations! HAPPY SPRING, everyone! See you next week! Here is my card for the challenge. For the large butterfly I colored the brown with Copic markers then cut out all the "holes" with an exacto knife. Then I backed it with the Cosmo Cricket DP. The bodies of all the butterflies are painted with Distress Stickles.

Blah, Blah, Blah

Sorry, I have that song in my head. Not much crafting going on today. I should take a picture of what we did at ATC club last night. We made 2 Easter cards and swapped ATC's. I had a little retail therapy today after dropping my DD off for pre-school. The once a month junk market was open and I found 3 German Easter Eggs. I was given some as a child and have always loved the old world feel. I'm going to try to get my hair cut tonight before Bunko. Run, run, run. I did want to show one interesting item I found at Micheals the other day. I don't know if it's new, but it's new to me. This DP is from Prima and has Alice in Wonderland! It's called Nursery Tales, some are flocked, some are shimmer paper, some are glitter embossed (96 sheets). It retails for $24.99 but with the 40% coupon it's a must for the Alice lover. There is even a paper that has Alice as a boy, interesting.

Owl be stampin.

Today's card was inspired by the Monday Mania Challenge at Club Anya and Friends. The inspiration photo had a browns and pinks and beautiful chandelier. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers #93. Once I started posting this on my blog I realized I did it again, I used the wrong stamp, CRAP!!!!!! I'm so mad at myself! So this doesn't qualify to win at Club Anya. Maybe I'll redo it. I really need a good way of remembering which blog these came from, The Greeting Farm or Club Anya. Or maybe I need to cut back on how many challenges I'm trying to complete in a week. Crazy talk, right? Have a great St. Patty's Day, I know I could use some of that Irish Luck!

Spring Forward and Fall Behind

Were did the day go? I feel like I just woke up and the day is over. This time change is going to take some time to get used to. We did have a beautiful day here in MN. It got us to 60 and everyone was outside enjoying it. I saw all my neighbors I haven't seen all winter out walking. My DD spent the afternoon playing outside with the other kids in the neighborhood. I thought I might get some crafting in but it never happened.

This is an ATC for my monthly mail in ATC swap. I've been saving it for a day like today when nothing gets done.

Oh, Alice Sketch Challenge

CHAPTER 4: Picturing Wonderland

"Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew, Beneath the setting sun.

Alice! a childish story take,And with gentle hand lay it were Childhood's dreams are twined. In Memory's mystic band,Like pilgrim's wither'd wreath of flowers
Pluck'd in a far-off land..."

We have another sketch Challenge today, this time brought to us by our very own Pam Varnell! Pam created this sketch JUST for the Oh, Alice! DT blog and it just reminds me of Wonderland itself!

Here's the sketch:

I did something a little different this week. It's not a card, but on an 8X8 canvas. Can you tell I have been devouring Tim Holtz new book A Compendium of Curiosities? It's kind of like crack, after your first hit your hooked. Let me know what you think. Also, I will be announcing the winners of my blog candy later today.
We would love for you to plunge Down the Rabbit hole with us again this week! All you have to do is upload your creation and link it using Mr. Linky below! The keyword this week for public galleries is OAC4.

ATTENTION: I HAVE BLOG CANDY! SEE POST BELOW TO ENTER.

I have 2 challenges in one for you today.

First is the Monday Mania challenge at Club Anya and Friends. The challenge was to use circles, dots, spots, and anything round in your card. I snuck this one in under the wire. It was due at 6PM and I got it turned in at 5:55. Nothing like waiting till the last minute.

The second challenge I used was the Friday Sketchers challenge. I saw the round sketch and knew it was just what I needed.

I used the new Oliver and Amelia set from The Greeting Farm. Isn't he a cutie, he reminds me of my nephew, CJ. In fact I had his birthday in mind when I made this card.

We had a busy weekend as usual. I did get to see the new Alice in Wonderland yesterday. It was wonderful in 3-D. The colors, special effects, and costumes were unreal. Also, I got to make a little pit stop at Archivers. With my 30% off coupon I got Tim Holtz new book A Compendium of Curiosities. It's a great reference on how to use all his products and techniques for distressing. If you get the chance take a look. Today we did a 3.5 mile hike then off to my hubby's new favorite stores, IKEA & REI. No he doesn't like to shop at IKEA, he just really likes the Swedish meatballs at their restaurant (and today a meal was only $1, WOW). REI is an outdoor sporting goods store that has claimed a healthy percentage of our income as of late. Today wasn't for him though, he wanted to get me some new hiking boots that were waterproof for the spring. My DD also made out like a bandit getting a new hiking shirt and pants. You really can't find toddler sized outdoor gear anywhere. He already took her on Saturday and got her new hiking shoes too. Hopefully they still fit by the end of the fall.

Projects from SU Stamp Club

I've been working on a few things for this weekend, but I didn't want to leave you hanging. I thought you may enjoy seeing the projects we did last night at my monthly Stampin Up stamp club meeting. Our demo Kristina always comes up with a cute scrapbook page and card. It's such a time saver when I can go to my stash of pre-made pages and have a page done in no time.

Hopefully I will have something of my own design tomorrow. Don't forget to come back Saturday for your chance to win some blog candy.

Oh, Alice CHAPTER TWO: Running in a SKETCHY circle...

This week at Oh, Alice the challenge is a fabulous sketch. I love how they made the sketch so pretty, not the usual black and white. As soon as I saw the half circle I knew I wanted to make it a clock. After some digging in my stash I came across these Heidi Swapp clock ghosts and a bag of watch parts. They were screaming to be a shaker card. Then it hit me to make it a two sided shaker card that opened. So my little late rabbit was born.

Make sure to come back this Saturday for some big news and maybe a little candy.
