2 new challenges

2 postes today (I know, shocker), so make sure to scroll down.
I stepped out of my box this week and tried 2 more new challenges (well, new to me).

I just got my first There She Goes stamps. They are so cute and have the best sentiments (kind of smart ass like me).

One of my Oh, Alice cohorts Pam Varnell designed her adorable card from this sketch. I liked it so much I thought I would give it a try.
Here is my card: You can't tell but there is glossy accent on the wine glasses. The stamps are from There She Goes: Craftier Taglines and the designer paper is my fav. Cosmo Cricket Early Bird.

A trip to the Minneapolis Farmers Market

I think it's finally summer in Minnesota. This weekend was our first trip to the farmers market for the season. The crowds were out in full force. The flowers and produce were unbelievable as always. Purchased some great brats from an Amish farmer, and cheese from our favorite guys from Wisconsin (Mmmm, smoked string cheese), and I can't forget the honey sticks Sis loves. We made fresh asparagus for dinner tonight and she actually liked it. She got her favorite, corn on the cob. I had to snap this picture in front of these beautiful red radishes. There were several musicians playing for tips.
Flowers were everywhere. It is just now warm enough here to plant anything.

Huge bunches of green onions at a booth.

The market is massive and a lot to take in. Veggies, fruit, organic farmers, farm raised meats, fabulous cheese from the dairies in Wisconsin, artisan breads, homemade jams, chocolates, and salsas. If your not a cook it will make you want to be one. There are also many booths with goods from around the world (I found the Asian swimsuits quite interesting).

Spent way to much money on flowers for the house, but my porch looks much more inviting now. I even got a sweet basil plant in the hopes to make caprese salad later in the season.

Just a little something Challenge

I tried a new challenge blog this week, Just a little something by Joanne B. I love her work and thought it was an interesting challenge. This is a sketch +3 challenge. You have to use this sketch and 3 items from the list. I used gingham, twill, and bling. The gingham and twill are from the ribbons and the bling is the heart on her shirt. This card is also for:
Club Anya and Friends Monday Mania: orange, pink, blue, and no designer paper

Oh, Alice: CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING

CHAPTER 15: New ideas are SWIRLING...doors are opening...all in our little WONDERLAND...
"It's no use talking about it," Alice said, looking up at the house and pretending it was arguing with her. `I'm not going in again yet. I know I should have to get through the Looking-glass again -- back into the old room -- and there'd be an end of all my adventures!'

So, resolutely turning back upon the house, she set out once more down the path, determined to keep straight on till she got to the hill. For a few minutes all went on well, and she was just saying, `I really shall do it this time -- ' when the path gave a sudden twist and shook itself (as she described it afterwards), and the next moment she found herself actually walking in at the door..."
Hello everyone! We are so excited today as we enter a new door here at Oh, Alice! There are always twists and turns down Alice's path, and with that, we have some good news, even some sad news, but we are all looking forward to our next Chapter here in WONDERLAND!

Today at Oh, Alice we are also excited to welcome LITTLE PAPER SHOP as our Sponsor! The very generous Julia has not only let the DT play with this adorably cute ALICE digi stamp, but is offering a $15 Gift Certificate to the LPS shop to one lucky winner this week! We can't thank Julia enough for this fabulous sponsorship and can't wait to see your creations this week. Our Challenge this week is a fun one! A note on my card: I always see these beautiful white on white cards out in blogland. I thought I would give it a try this week. I'm sorry to say I feel that mine fell a little short. It just doesn't have the elegance those others seem to have. My mojo just hasn't been up to par as of late.

We know they won't be strangers as they'll be playing along with our challenges if and when they can. They will be missed but it will ALWAYS be their un-birthday here at our little twisted table.

Bad Stamper, Bad Bad Stamper

I know, I know, I've been a bad stamper lately. There just hasn't been any time to craft. Woe is me. So I will tell you the very glamorous story of why I've had no time this week. For those of you that know me personally know that I have a 4 year old that suffers from Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE). (Say that 3 times fast, I dare you.) Along with all the eating issues it causes it also causes bowel problems. We have been having problems again for about 2 months now. So I got her into the GI doctor on Monday. She touched her stomach one time and said "Oh ya, she's full of it." Now I'm the first to admit my kid is full of s@#t most of the time, but now I have it from a medical professional. So the cure for this ongoing (or not going) problem, a complete bowel clean out just like a colonoscopy prep. Since she has a feeding tube we don't have to make her drink that awful stuff but put it in her tube. I know a feeding tube sounds like a terrible thing but sometimes it's very handy. I never have to fight her to take meds at least. I started her last night on the liquid plumber. Nothing happened all night. First thing this morning her stomach started rumbling. Then the eagle landed, OMG! How can a little body hold so much? I deserve some kind of Mom medal for what I had to clean up. She just kept saying, "Mom, my butt exploded". So this is my glamorous life for the next few days, a literal s@$t storm. Your jealous, right?

On a different note, I did snap a picture of my iris's that are in full bloom. Momma brought all the bulbs from Indiana. I wondered if they would survive a Minnesota winter (and my black thumb) but they did great.Wednesday night I got together with friends at Lauri's house and played. Here are my leaf prints and some Tjaps stamping.
I will have something new for you tomorrow, this weeks Oh, Alice challenge. Come back to see me.

This months theme for ATC club is flowers. I unfortunately didn't get to go since hubby was in Texas and I was having a huge yard sale. So I will give these out next month. I love vintage metal picnic boxes and have one about this aqua color. I used colored pencils on watercolor paper. The word enjoy is stamped in the top right but it's very hard to see.

Oh, Alice Chapter 14: Gettin' Sketchy in the Golden Afternoon

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips,
and the sun is like a toy balloon.
There are get up in the morning glories,
in the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside,
strings of violets are all in tune,
Tiger lilies love the dandy lions,
in the golden afternoon,
the golden afternoon.
There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede,
where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life they lead... "

Happy Day and some camping photos

Happy Dance!! I won Monday Mania at Club Anya and Friends. You can see details here.

Well the camping trip was success. We went to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park on the North Shore. This first picture is taken from our campsite. No joke, this is the view from our campsite. A million dollar view for $21 a night. The campsite was perfect, private, and quiet. It was a cold night, down to about 30. We had to dress in lots of layers. Sorry for all the pictures, we took over 300 while we were there. It was hard to narrow them down.
After getting settled into camp we went for a hike on the Superior Hiking Trail. It has several waterfalls and great views.Tim's best buddy Bella.Bella looking out at the water from out campsite. The bench at our campsite.Mmmmm, SmoresAn early morning snack while trying to stay warm.Bella's first swim. From the beach below our campsite.Sis in the lighthouse.About 5 minutes after we left.

Oh, Alice Chapter 13: Mushroom Inspiration...

"Oh dear! I'd nearly forgotten that I've got to grow up again! Let me see--how IS it to be managed? I suppose I ought to eat or drink something or other; but the great question is, what?''

Alice looked all round her at the flowers and the blades of grass, but she did not see anything that looked like the right thing to eat or drink under the circumstances. There was a large mushroom growing near her, about the same height as herself; and when she had looked under it, and on both sides of it, and behind it, it occurred to her that she might as well look and see what was on the top of it..."

Today at Oh, Alice we have a fabulous inspiration piece for you and are SO excited to get to this week's challenge. Here is your inspiration photo for this week's challenge:
We can't WAIT to see what you do with this week's challenge, and are even more excited to announce that this week, Oh, Alice is being sponsored by the wonderful Victoria Case Designs!! How awesome is THAT?

And just WAIT until you check out the Prize! Victoria is SUPER generous and is offering 5 Rubber Stamps to one lucky winner! Can you believe that?!? Thanks so much, Victoria!
This week I chose Summer Heat from Victoria Case Designs. If you look closely at the inspiration piece there is a bee flying around. These lazy bugs taking a nap on a mushroom look like they just had a large tea party. I painted the wings with Lumin Arte' to give them an iridescent look.

We have a feeling the entries are going to be amazing this week, and to kick-start your mojo, just check out the rest of the DT's creations. You can find a link to their blogs in the sidebar on the right.

You have until Friday, May 20th at 8pm CST to enter to qualify for this awesome prize! Be sure to link your creation below using Mr. Linky and if you're uploading to a public gallery, please use OAC13 as your keyword. Good luck, everyone and have a CURIOUS week!

Oh, Alice Chapter 12: Curiosity is Key...

" Suddenly Alice came upon a little three-legged table, all made of solid glass; there was nothing on it except a tiny golden key, and Alice's first thought was that it might belong to one of the doors of the hall; but, alas! either the locks were too large, or the key was too small, but at any rate it would not open any of them. However, on the second time round, she came upon a low curtain she had not noticed before, and behind it was a little door about fifteen inches high: she tried the little golden key in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted!"

Hello again! Welcome back for another Oh, Alice challenge! This week your curiosity is KEY to this week's challenge.

Rather, the Key IS the challenge! Yep! Let's see how YOU open the door to your creativity this week using a KEY as your inspiration. You can use embellishments, DP, stamps, whatever KEY elements you have to play is fine with us!
There's no time limit to play this week, however, entries are always appreciated by everyone here at Oh, Alice and we'd love to stop by your blogs to see your beautiful creations. Your participation is KEY to all of this and to show you just how much we thank you, we have a fantastic prize next week along with a fun few announcements too!

Have a Curious week, everyone!

Oh Piggy

For those of you that know my 4 year old you can see why this stamp was a must have. This is the Angry Ballerina from Kraftin Kimmie, or it could be a picture of my little one on any given day. She absolutely loves pigs, she can spot one (real or fake) a mile away. I don't know why, but pigs are her animal of choice. She was even a pig for Halloween this last year.
