The Altered Alice CHAPTER 6 Challenge - Week 5: Tea-things

`And ever since that,' the Hatter went on in a mournful tone, `he won't do a thing I ask! It's always six o'clock now.'
A bright idea came into Alice's head. `Is that the reason so many tea-things are put out here?' she asked.
`Yes, that's it,' said the Hatter with a sigh: `it's always tea-time, and we've no time to wash the things between whiles.'
`Then you keep moving round, I suppose?' said Alice.
`Exactly so,' said the Hatter: `as the things get used up.'
`But what happens when you come to the beginning again?' Alice ventured to ask.

The Mad Hatter's tea table was full of tea-things, with place settings all the way around and many teapots and teacups. Your challenge this month is to have a teapot or teacup on your project, and, as an option, to use something OTHER than a stamped image as your focal point!

That's because The Altered Alice design team will be showing off with digital collage sheets from One Crabapple [Etsy Store | Blog], which has of the most interesting and different Alice in Wonderland categories I've seen! The owner and artist is taking care of some family priorities, so if the store is closed when you visit, just put in your email in to be notified when it reopens. It is well worth waiting for I promise; most of the design team members had a difficult time making their choices and a couple of us needed all of everything in the Alice category! The winner will have their choice of five collage sheets from One Crabapple!

And the winner is..... Go here to see....

Copic Marker Box

My Pixie Dust team mate Terri posted on her blog how to make an awesome Copic storage box.  You can see her instructions here.  I ran to Home Depot to get everything today.  I had to change the materials list a bit to work with what I could find.
I used:
ArtBin Double Deep Box
florescent light cover (mine is by Lithonia Lighting)
4  1/4 in. X 5 carriage bolts
16 3/8in. washers
4 1/4 in. nuts
4 1/4in. cap nuts
8 1in. long 1/2: OD nylon spacers

Isn't it pretty!

Mass Production

So this is what happens when you ask someone if they need some cards..............

I recently asked my mother-in-law if she needed any cards.  I should have known she would need the one type I didn't have on hand, sympathy cards.  So I set off to do some mass production and made 24 cards relatively fast by keeping them simple.  I only have 1 sympathy stamp set and the reason I have it is because it was a free with purchase set.  This Gina K set has come in very handy to have around.  I should add another sympathy set to my collection, but who wants to buy a sympathy set when you can get some really cute & fun stuff instead.
This was also a great way to use up some paper that I've had sitting around forever.

And here is my project:
I started with a tea pot chipboard album, I covered it with paper and paint.

These images are from a vintage childrens book I found at a thrift store.
I used mod podge to adhere the etiquette quotes and the One Crabtree images.

July is a long month, so you have almost four weeks to enter your project! Plenty of time for even our stragglers to play along, just be sure to enter at The Altered Alice before 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Daylight Time, GMT -5:00) on Friday, July 29. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Look at the big load of love I got in the mail.  I won some blog candy from Michelle at Stop and Stamp the Roses.  I've enjoyed her blog for years.  My 5 year old has already claimed some of the ribbon for her own.  I will have to learn not to squeal when opening the mail so not to attract her attention.  Thanks Michelle, you made my day!
