Scrapbook Page - Whatcha Doing?

I finished this 2 pager last week.  Now I'm under the 2 year behind mark on my scrapbooking.  That only means about 4000 photos to go (ha ha).  I've been busy trying to get ahead on some other projects with month since next month we will be going on vacation.  I've been busy coming up with the April Daisy Girl Scout project and getting all the supplies ready to go.  I've also been on a major OCD high getting my daughters clothes picked out for the trip (more on that later).  I made out the family calendar for March this weekend, and wow are we busy.  On top of a vacation, hubby is traveling for work (nothing new) and then we have family coming to visit the day after we get back.  No rest of the wicked, right?

Here is a closer look are each page.
I had just a couple pieces of this cute paper and thought it looked good with P's pink pants in the picture.
This is P keeping an eye on her Uncle Kevin while he paints the woodwork around the windows on the second floor of the house.  She was very concerned about his safety.

The Altered Alice: Week 4 - CHAPTER 12 Challenge: Hearts!

"First came ten soldiers carrying clubs; these were all shaped like the three gardeners, oblong and flat, with their hands and feet at the corners: next the ten courtiers; these were ornamented all over with diamonds, and walked two and two, as the soldiers did. After these came the royal children; there were ten of them, and the little dears came jumping merrily along hand in hand, in couples: they were all ornamented with hearts. Next came the guests, mostly Kings and Queens, and among them Alice recognised the White Rabbit: it was talking in a hurried nervous manner, smiling at everything that was said, and went by without noticing her. Then followed the Knave of Hearts, carrying the King's crown on a crimson velvet cushion; and, last of all this grand procession, came THE KING AND QUEEN OF HEARTS." -- Chapter 8; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Scrapbook Page - Zoo Fun

Here is a quick zoo page I made.  I wish I had made the cute animal paper piece much bigger.  But its done and I'm not pulling it apart now.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye - Alphabet Soup Boy , I won it at a crop I went to last year.

Dog Gone Cute

Boy, I have had a week with appliances.  First last Thursday my dryer stopped blowing any hot air.  We replaced the washer last year and knew we were on borrowed time with its mate.  So first thing Friday I headed out dryer shopping.  No problem there, new one came Tuesday.  Then Monday I was at the kitchen table doing homework with my daughter when my 2 month old fridge made a weird sound and smoke started pouring out the back.  The repair man came Tuesday and said the compressor was grounded out and to have them bring me a new fridge.  So I spent that evening moving all the food in the house out to the garage fridge and freezer.  (Here is a little tip:  if you want to lose weight just get rid of the fridge.  If you have to walk out to a cold garage to get food out it's not half as tempting.)  The new fridge came yesterday and I spent this morning moving all the food back into the house.  Why can't they make appliances like they used to?  Your lucky to get 10 years out of one today.  I remember when we moved my grandmother out of her house she still had her old White Westinghouse fridge and freezer in the basement.  They looked like a 57 Chevy and were at least as old, but they still worked just fine.

I finally got a scrapbook page made and photographed.  It only took me 2 weeks to get it done and posted.  I used my Cricut to cut out all the little dog bones for the border.  The paw prints are a border punch.

For my card I used the Key to Wonderland image as my background paper.  I colored the paper with Pan Pastels then used india ink to doodle.  The key is painted with white gel pen, glitter sharpies, and acrylic paint.

Getting Ready for Valentines Day

I have been busy getting Valentines ready for my daughters Kindergarten class.  I could resist this cute idea using Papertreys Tremendous Treats Valentine.  I found the red shovels on ebay.  I used tags from the office supply store and used a border punch on the bottom.  I also added heart brads to the buckets.
Next on the to do list:  I valentines box for her to collect all her love notes in.

Cricut to the Rescue

My kindergartner came home from school yesterday saying she needed a fox costume for her school play THE NEXT DAY!  (Long story about why she didn't make hers during class like everyone else.  I won't bore you with that.)  Well what's a mom to do in the 11th hour?  Cricut to the Rescue!

I got myself a new Cricut Expression 2 for Christmas, and have not had a chance to play with it much.  Thankfully I had already set up my Cricut Craft Room and could download the  Masks -Animals software.  It was so easy to do, almost to easy!

Oh Happy Day!  One fox mask to the rescue!
Her teacher said next time I'm making all the costumes.

Note to Self:  Being known as the crafty mom at school is never a good thing!

Pixie Dust Studio Challenge - "Girly Girl" - PDS112

Happy Thursday Pixie Friends :)
It's time for a new challenge!
This weeks challenge is Girly Girl!  I love this challenge since my style of card making is very girly girl.  I was a total tom boy growing up so I'm making up for it now.

I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 151.

On a personal note:  This is my last challenge with the Pixie Dust Team.  I have really enjoyed my time with Pixie Dust Studio and with all the Pixies.  They are a great group of ladies.  With my daughter in school and many extracurricular activities I just don't have the time to craft for myself.  With the new year I decided it was time to get back to the mountain of unfinished projects (like the 3 years of pictures waiting to be scrapbooked) I have been meaning to work on for ages.  I would also like to have the time to explore some other crafty areas like knitting, art journaling, and the photoshop class I still really need to take.  Thanks to all you Pixie fans that have left me comments of the past year.  I love to hear from you all.  Best of luck to Kathy and all the Pixies!  Don't be strangers.
